New HP TouchPad May Automatically Download Songs You May Like

To be honest, I haven't really been that interested in Hewlett Packard's upcoming tablet, the TouchPad, until now.

This tablet has a 9.7 inch screen, runs webOS and has a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon tucked inside of it. It honestly isn't really anything too astounding and really isn't even that eye-catching.

However, according to the guys over at PreCentral, HP plans to incorporated a cloud-esque music syncing algorithm that caches the type of music you like to listen to and will automatically download more music that it thinks you would enjoy.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this yet. I don't know if I'd want my tablet independently downloading music for me. What if I don't like it? What if my tablet offends me? What if my tablet downloads music IT likes? What if it starts to steal money from me to feed its music downloading addiction? What if we can't be friends anymore?

All joking aside, I'm willing the bet that this feature will probably just download and recommend snippets of songs that you may like before downloading them or something like that.

Pretty interesting concept.

1. Can be good, Can be bad. You dont really know if it will download what you want or just similar to what you like.

2. If I could tell it what to download, NO.

3. Not really.

4. Dont know what that is :(

1. It's just another gimmic feature that will download nothing near anything people like because people may be interested in so much!
2. Yes I would mind, because it would be undermining me and something I could do myself and distinctly know what it is downloading.
3. Yes I'm interested in the whole "bandwagon" that these companies are going on..
4. Yes of course :D If it was in a sandwich though :O

Need to see this working, for now I think it won't download the right stuff.

Nah, I don't think that's going to work. I tried using the genius for iApple products and it didn't really do that much for me. At best it selected something SIMILAR but nothing that I really LIKED. That probably doesn't make any sense, and I would only do it if the auto downloads were free.
Also, I once had canned Spam. Nowhere near as good as the stuff you cook yourself (recludes back into kitchen). :D

There are so many touch pads that are about to come out, it's hard to keep track. People love these things for no reasons

Interesting idea! If it was really relevant, the downloads could be handy. Haha, spam is actually really popular in Hawaii.

I do not like the sound of this. I think it would download a lot of music that I do not like. And if people have stuff like Lady GaGa, then the tablet will download horrible sounding stuff that is basically copying her format. And because they are not famous they will not like it. also, No. No. No.

WebOS is IMHO the best smartphone (tablet maybe?) OS

1. I don't think I'd like it, my music collection is big enough and I already have enough music I don't even listen to regularly.
2. Yes, don't want.
3. I have no use for the thing.
4. I don't see why not.
